Book Sale

Dyer Library hosts an annual summer book sale which relies on donations of books from the community. We accept donations of books in good condition and of current interest that will help us generate revenue from our book sale to help fund library programs and services. Donations can be brought to the front desk during Library hours.

We appreciate your consideration of the following guidelines, set in sensitivity to our space and staffing limitations!

  • One box or bag per visit*
  • Items in good condition
  • Hardcover & Paperback novels (2014 – present)
  • Non-Fiction on all topics (2019 – present)
  • Children’s Books (2014 – present)
  • Classics in excellent condition

* We are currently on pause from accepting book donations as we clean up and reorganize following the 2025 Annual Book Sale. We anticipate accepting donations again in mid-September.

As a reminder, the book collection boxes behind the Saco Museum go to another organization, NOT the Dyer Library/Saco Museum. They are great for items we don’t accept, like textbooks, manuals, and books in less-than-stellar conditions. But we would love if you saved your best books to donate to us!

2026 Annual Book Sale

The 2026 Annual Book sale will take place place in August 2026.

Year-Round Book Sale

Our ongoing book sale is moving! Previously located in our Lobby, you can now peruse our gently used fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and puzzles at the Saco Museum. No museum admission fee is required to shop at the Year-Round Book Sale, however, please keep in mind that the museum keeps different hours from the Dyer Library and plan your visit accordingly.
